HOW IT STARTED
Elegy was just spark of a dream started on Etsy all the way back in 2010 by me, Miss Chubi. I was an art school drop out (I only had 1 year left lol), and all I knew was that I wanted to sew things for a living. I started off by selling cosplay-type items, hair clips, a lot of commissions, and I don’t even know what else. I made my very first sale just a few hours after opening my shop, and I was hooked. It only took a year to fully fall down the rabbit hole of Lolita fashion, and in 2011 I changed my whole focus to just that and never looked back.
Over the years I’ve sold at many cons & events, traveling to many different cities and states. But since 2020 I’m happy staying where I am - working in my home studio with my dog and selling online.
Where it’s made
Everything in my shop is made by me. Here’s a view of my modest workspace. It’s quite cozy. My studio and me are located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Everything is sewn here, all the photos are taken here, and everything is shipped from here. Truly just a girl and her team of sewing machines.
